How to choose the right facial for your skin
A practical guide to matching your skin concerns with the right Dermalogica treatment — from a quick refresh to advanced resurfacing.

At a glance
- Start with your main concern, not the treatment name.
- Sensitive or reactive skin needs calming before correcting.
- A professional skin consultation is the most reliable way to decide.
Start with what you want to change
Most people book a facial with a general goal in mind — “better skin” — but the most useful starting point is one specific concern. Tight, dehydrated skin, breakouts along the jawline and a dull, uneven tone each call for a different approach. Naming your main concern helps your therapist prioritise, and makes choosing between treatments far simpler.
Matching concerns to treatments
Every facial at Fuse is a customised Dermalogica treatment, but each has a different focus:
- ProSkin 30 — a 30-minute refresh for maintenance, hydration and glow between longer treatments.
- ProSkin 60 — a fully customised 60-minute facial for more than one concern, such as dehydration with congestion or uneven texture.
- ProCalm — for sensitised, reactive or compromised skin that needs soothing and barrier support.
- ProBright — for dullness, uneven tone and the appearance of pigmentation.
- ProFirm — for loss of firmness, fine lines and skin that needs revitalising.
- ProPower Peel — professional-strength exfoliation to improve texture, tone and congestion.
Calm first, correct second
If your skin stings, flushes easily or reacts to new products, strengthen the skin barrier before moving on to brightening or resurfacing. Strong actives on sensitised skin make it more reactive, while a calming treatment first sets you up for better results from targeted treatments later.
How often to have a facial
Skin renews gradually, so consistency matters more than intensity. Many people find a professional treatment every four to six weeks works well, with a shorter refresh in between when needed. Your therapist can suggest a rhythm that suits your skin, goals and schedule.
Book a skin consultation
The consultation exists for exactly this. Every facial at Fuse begins with a professional skin consultation, and your therapist will tailor the treatment to what your skin needs on the day. You can also try our Find Your Perfect Facial guide before you book.
